My name is Unnur Stella Níelsdóttir, an Icelandic artist from Akureyri. Working under the name Start Studio, my practice is rooted in painting, while also exploring design, ceramics, and other creative mediums.

My work is colorful, playful, and inspired by the beauty of everyday life - from shared meals around the table, animals in weird human like form to and moments of connection. I enjoy finding stories and character in the ordinary, creating work that feels warm, joyful, and inviting.

For me, art is about curiosity, play, and creating something that can bring a little more color and joy into everyday life.
